Why are medical treatments so expensive? Did you know it costs as much as 1.5 crore (US$ 333,000) to cure AML or Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a type of blood cancer? That, my friends, is the minimum projected cost! I just received this link from my brother-in-law. His colleague Gaurav, is suffering from AML, and time is running out. (The photos are of Gaurav with his family in healthier days, and the recent one in December)

So sorry about that. Medical cost is unbelievable. God bless Gaurav with health.Life is unpredictable.

Tushar went to hospital for a stomach ache and it cost $6500 for tests and he had nothing but indigestion in the end! We had to pay $1750 for 2 hrs of tests even though we have the best health insu.!

I will get the link going in my blog.

This is my first time at your blog and It's sad to see a post like this... my dad is fighting lung/brain cancer right now... and insurance ran out and my parents are struggling with costs, too... It's really sad that money tops all... The picture is sad, although he is smiling... There is so much that people don't realize a family goes through when someone is struggling with illness... It affects everybody, and money is one of the very bad and very real parts... My prayers are with him and his family.

I looked up the link, and am appalled at the way cancer has struck so many people I know in the past few months. At office it has become a regular thing to collect money to for contributions for affected families - wife, children,self!! As one of my latest affected colleague said - you don't know how much it costs you until it affects you directly:( I will see what we can chip in. God bless Gaurav - his smile despite the plight requires some attitude!
